Join South Bay Parkland Conservancy for monthly nature walks in Wilderness Park. The walks are designed as a fun hour-long sensory experience catered to children. Redondo Beach Community Garden
The Redondo Beach Community Garden provides residents of Redondo Beach with a space to grow food, build community, reduce food insecurity, and practice sustainable and healthy living. It is located in Alta Vista Park and is the first community garden in Redondo Beach.
Hermosa Beach Greenbelt Trail
In the past, the Hermosa Beach Greenbelt Trail has provided very little native habitat for birds, butterflies, and other pollinators like the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly. South Bay Parkland Conservancy is partnering with the City of Hermosa Beach to remove invasive ice plant and restore California natives such as Seacliff buckwheat to help save local endangered species from extinction.
Redondo Beach Esplanade Bluff Restoration
The Redondo Beach Bluff Restoration provides an expansion of habitat for the endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly and provides a critical habitat corridor linking existing colonies of the butterfly between Palos Verdes and Ballona Creek. This project removes invasive plants and restores California native plants to the coastline.

Local species, such as the El Segundo Blue Butterfly pictured here, are at risk for extinction due to habitat loss and a lack of native plants. This butterfly is currently on the endangered species list and will not be able to recover their numbers without our help!
